YMCA Shimla as a leading NGO of Shimla and the state, endeavors to concentrate all its energy and resources to organize and take part in networking with other NGOs, Voluntary Organisations, and Government agencies.

The focus of the YMCA is mainly on the youth, poor women and children, Public Health, AIDS awareness, environmental issues, anti-alcohol and anti-smoking thereby contributing to a great extent to making smoke-free Shimla.

Additionally, YMCA has a long-term association with sports and sporting activities. In fact, so much that a physical education professor and instructor in Massachusetts founded the famous game of basketball.

YMCA Shimla also provides its members and guests with sporting facilities – a Billiards room and a table tennis area is readily available.
