Clothing guidelines

Bring a small amount of clothing suitable for different situations—comfortable clothes, short and long sleeves, and travel/outdoor wear.
Bring enough underwear and socks, as it can be difficult to find high-quality ones in India.

Do not overpack. Avoid bringing too many clothes—you will most likely buy clothes in India, and carrying a heavy backpack everywhere is neither fun nor practical.
